Owens, Cry of the Kalahari

Owens, Cry of the Kalahari

In 1974 Mark and Delia Owens, two young American scientists, auctioned off everything they owned and travelled to Africa. They were determined to study the great carnivores before lack of conservation policies led to the final destruction of African wildlife. Cry of the Kalahari is the story of seven years with lions, brown hyenas, jackals, birds, shrews, lizards and many other creatures they came to know; it tells how they survived and conducted research in one of the last and largest pristine areas on earth.
